I know why you're happy today
and why you'er laughing all of the time
that's because we are on our way
out to the mountains that we will climb

There up in the mountains air is so clear
and we can see many miles all around
although it's high up we do not fear
it's better here than back on the ground

It is nice to be way up high
out in the nature leaving the town
up here we can see how eagles do fly
how nice if we could fly all way down

How we will enjoy it spending this time
here in the mountains we're feeling so free
and breathing air that is so sublime
that is the right place for you and me
