What have you done with my Heart

What have you done with my heart?
I'm sure I just had it safe right here.
Then you smiled and I fell apart.
I didn't notice it disappear.
Who would expect to be found
By such a dream, just a highwayman?
Who knew he'd be going around
Gathering hearts fast as just he can.
So what have you done with my heart?
You should be collared and put in jail.
And then I'm afraid I'd soon start
Figuring out how to raise your bail.
Oh, What have you done, thief of mine?
Your tender eyes, how they tempt me so.
Oh, I'm almost ready to sign
All of it over to you, I know.
What have you done with my heart?
I've had a fence posted here for years.
You have thieving down to an art.
I've lost my heart, but I shed no tears.
Well, now you're the new owner, dear.
You've got my heart, so just be aware--
The book of instructions is there
For the right way to give food and care.
So you'll need to keep it on hand:
And piles of kisses and hugs to spare,
'Cause this heart will happily stand
Lots of affection and show no wear.
Oh, girls, heed this warning I share.
If you go walking alone one day,
Those strangers with dark eyes beware,
Lest you may find your heart stole away.
What have you done with my heart?
I'm sure I just had it safe right here.
But you smiled and I fell apart.
I didn't notice it disappear.
Oh, who would expect to be found
By such a dream, just a highwayman?
Who knew he'd be going around
Gathering hearts fast as just he can.
So what have you done, thief of mine?
Your tender eyes, how they tempt me so.
Oh, I'm almost ready to sign
All of it over to you, I know.
Oh, what have you done with my heart?
I've had a fence posted here for years.
Yes, you've got theft down to an art.
I've lost my heart, but I shed no tears.
